32 Gauge Copper Wire
2 1/2" x 1/2" x 1" each
Ongoing

Last year I was pregnant with my first child. It was an exciting time, filled with new experiences and anticipation. Because of my physical state, I stopped working on my larger pieces and started focusing on crocheting these small, modular feet. It became an obsession of mine. While painstakingly manufacturing these tedious beings, I would think about what it would be like to be a mother and to have a child who is completely dependent on me. This time to think while preparing for childbirth created a whole new body of work that I am now actively producing.
PITTER-PATTER is created with 32 gauge copper wire. Similar to a newborn baby, it’s only appropriate that something so small and delicate would be made out of such a precious metal that is thinner than the average strand of hair. When in a group, the feet seem to move with their dynamic walking gestures. I look away from the clustering and return convinced that they had moved from where I had last left them.
